The project comprised 2 purpose-built temperature-controlled warehouses for raw food production ingredient storage and finished product storage and distribution. A further existing warehouse was refurbished for food production The interconnecting warehouses floor area total 30,440m2. Servicing the development are inbound and outbound dock offices and 4650m2 of clear span super canopies. To overcome the site’s natural severe gradient and to maximise the function and use of the allotment, the development encompasses over 800 lineal meters of retaining walls up to 9m in height and a two-storey car park to facilitate sufficient parking spaces for staff shift changeovers. The project was delivered under 3 separate contracts entailing the developer‘s and 2 tenants’ scope. The delivery was undertaken across two consecutive stages to enable the tenants’ to occupy and commence production and stock building whilst the remainder of the build was finalised.
